Arai MX-V EVO, motocross helmet

The MX-V is an evolution of the legendary VX-3. Arai's years of competition experience are reflected in this ultimate MX, enduro and off-road helmet. While fashionable elements in helmet design come and quickly go, the organic R75 shell of the MX-V remains for the same reasons as all other Arai helmets: to create a smooth, round shell shape that retains its integral strength.

The lack of rounded edges or protrusions is not a lack of imagination or creativity on Arai's part. They are missing because the shape of the helmet improves protection. This is also the reason why the MX-V is the latest Arai to receive ECE R22-06 approval without any significant changes.

Priority for protection: Arai's design philosophy of producing rounder, smoother and stronger outer shells to improve the ability to slide is at the heart of all our efforts, alongside the stringent internal criteria that all Arai helmets must meet. As with every Arai helmet, the MX-V EVO is the sum of the details that make this helmet the benchmark it represents.

Everything starts with the strong outer shell. The PB-CLC2 outer shell is made from a special Z-composite resin and has a lightweight lining to reduce the overall weight.

When riding strenuously off-road, ventilation is very important. The front and rear ventilation openings of the MX-V channel cool air into the helmet together. The peak also bends the airflow while reducing buoyancy. The interior is also fully removable, easy to wash and customizable.

Shell construction: PB-CLC2

The complex laminate construction increases the strength and flexibility of the shell while ensuring low weight and a lower center of gravity. This band is located above the eye-opening and enables the use of a thinner EPS lining. This significantly improves the field of vision upwards. Using a specially developed “mechanically expanded fiberglass mat” between the inner and outer layers of Arai's proprietary super fiber laminates, these two super fiber layers are reinforced and bonded without making the helmet significantly heavier. The latest Z-Mixture resins increase material adhesion so that less resin is needed for a stronger bond between the materials. The helmet shell becomes thinner and lighter.

MX-V ventilation

The easy-to-clean air channels create a strong Venturi vacuum on the back, and the ventilation in the center of the top ensures increased airflow. Air inlets under the peak collect and channel cool air into the helmet. An internal chin vent closure prevents dirt from entering the helmet in dusty conditions. The lower, side ventilation openings also help to dissipate hot air and ensure a cooler ride.

Innovative wing

The peak of the MX-V EVO directs the air into the ventilation openings on the forehead for cooling and at the same time uses several relief openings to reduce the lifting of the helmet at higher speeds.

Internal closure (latch) for chin ventilation

To prevent the ingress of coarse dirt, the chin vents can also be adjusted from the side from the inside.

Center top ventilation Inlet and outlet openings on the front of the helmet. The inlet allows large amounts of cool fresh air to flow into the helmet, while the outlet of the front channel helps to quickly remove warm air from inside the helmet.

Rear channel

The ventilation opening on the top back also serves as a goggle strap holder. The air diffusers can be removed or replaced quickly and easily by removing a screw on the center strut of the rear channel.

Side air vents

Additional side air vents in the lower helmet area remove warm and stale air from the helmet. Integrated into the shell construction, these vents are aerodynamically optimized. A cleverly placed layer of special foam on the inside reduces wind noise without impairing ventilation performance.

Dry-Cool® lining

Arai's Dry-Cool® material efficiently and quickly wicks heat and moisture away from the rider.
Replaceable ear pads/cheek pads
Cheek pads/cheek ear pads (Jet helmets) can be removed very easily. All parts, replaceable or not, can be cleaned well with lukewarm water and very mild soap. Rinse well with clean water afterward and do not leave the items to dry in direct sunlight or near a heat source. All interior parts are available in different sizes and thicknesses to allow an individual fit for each rider.

Replaceable neck roll

All parts, replaceable or not, can be easily cleaned with lukewarm water and very mild soap. Facial Contour System (FCS)

The Facial Contour System (FCS) works with a spring mechanism in the cheek pads, which ensures a tight fit and more comfort on the lower jaw without exerting too much pressure.

5 mm removable ear pads/cheek pads

The cheek pads make it even easier to adjust the fit and comfort and have a 5 mm peel-off layer to gain space when needed.

5 mm removable temple pads

Arai's removable key pads can be used to gain 5 mm of interior space if required.

Speaker pockets

Built-in communication systems are popular, but the problem is often that the space for speakers is limited or non-existent, resulting in unwanted pressure points. The special speaker pockets that allow speakers to be attached without sacrificing comfort or fit. (Speakers not included).

Airflow control

Works in conjunction with the “dual-pivot®” chin ventilation. Fresh air is directed straight to the surface of the visor and at the same time stale air is drawn downwards from there.

Double-D ring device

The flat and D-shaped rings fit smooth against the chin. No moving parts, no corrosion problems and just pulling the tab is enough to loosen the fastener.

Emergency release system (ERS)

Enables faster access to an injured driver. The cheek pads fall out by pulling the orange tabs integrated into the pads. This makes it easier for rescuers to remove the helmet. This reduces the risk of further injuries.

ECE R22-06

ECE R22 is the most widely used helmet standard internationally and is required by over 50 countries worldwide. ECE R22-06 requires a much stricter testing procedure than the previous ECE R22-05 and includes an impact test to measure rotation.
