The Clip-in Technology

Wearing the same apparel on hot summer days as in the transition period with single-digit temperatures? No problem with the Held Clip-in technology. All Held jackets and trousers, which are equipped with the Clip-in feature can be retrofitted and upgraded with Held Clip-in products.

On the specially coloured fixation loops, the Clip-in products are installed by press studs into the outer shell.

With the blue coloured loops and press studs, the system is easily distinguishable from other fastening systems of the base garment like connecting zips, air-vents and removable membranes and linings.

The individual Clip-in products can also be worn separately for any non-biking activity as leisure wear.

Held-Tex-Z-liner

All climate membranes have the same basic function: they protect the body from moisture from the outside, keep out the wind and transport body perspiration from the inside to the outside by exploiting a temperature gradient. This gives the clothing excellent weather protection and comfort properties at the same time.

All membranes are made of polyurethane or polyester and reliably transport water vapour molecules to the outside along molecular chains by chemical-physical means. The pore-free homogeneous structure does not allow wind to penetrate and thus prevents the body from cooling down. For a waterproof construction, each individual seam is welded with a special heat-sealing tape so that no water can penetrate from the outside through the seams. Depending on the product brand, the membranes are made of different basic materials and are usually incorporated into jackets and pants as a loose film ("liner") on the inside. Special materials and special processing guidelines make the membranes extremely durable, stretchy and extremely tear-resistant.

TACTEL®

TACTEL® is often made from a blend of cotton and polyamide or polyamide and elastane fibres. INVISTA's dynamic special fibre TACTEL® is used to make garments that are soft, pleasantly smooth, breathable and lightweight. TACTEL® fibres dry up to eight times faster than cotton and are not only soft and light, but they also have high strength. The inherent strength of TACTEL® fibres enables the production of textiles with three times the strength of natural fibres.
