Kevlar®

Kevlar® was developed by Stephanie Kwolek. It is a heat-resistant, synthetic para-aramid fiber with a molecular structure consisting of numerous bridges between the chains, which gives Kevlar® its incredible strength. Kevlar® is particularly well known as a material for bulletproof protective clothing, but its high tensile strength compared to weight makes it suitable for numerous other applications.
